Where are you in our process? Use this page to understand what is happening and what's next

Our Scholars program is designed to offer flexible, rewarding remote work for subject matter experts around the world.

We take care to bring people into the program who are qualified and have the experience to perform the work required at the highest level of quality. As such, our selection process can contain multiple stages, and may take longer than other platforms that you may have worked with before. We respect and appreciate the time and care that you put in during this process.

During selection and onboarding, you will have a direct point of contact at iMerit who will be able to guide you and answer any questions. They will let you know what stage in the process you are at, according to the system below. Please read so that you can familiarize yourself with the stages.

Stages

1

Sourcing

This is the first stage, whereby you have indicated your interest in joining the iMerit Scholars program by signing up at https://imerit.net/scholarsarrow-up-right or via direct contact with our recruiting team. If there are projects that may match your skills and experience, we will contact you to begin our selection process.

2

Selection

You are in our selection process, which may include one or more online assessments, interviews or practice work to determine your skills and experience.

We will communicate your progress along the way. Normally you will spend no longer than four weeks in this stage of the process.

We carry out selection in two ways - first to determine suitability for a current or upcoming project, and secondly for general suitability for Scholars work in the future. It’s important to know that if one particular project isn’t the right fit for you, it does not necessarily reflect on your expertise. Candidates that are not suitable for one project may find that their skills are better suited to a different project within our current or future portfolio.

While we are hopeful that you may find a project with us, there is no guarantee of work at this stage. Make sure you verify and understand the Project Status.

3

Onboarding

In this stage we collect information and perform required background checks.

During this stage, we try to communicate as clearly as possible whether there is a confirmed or provisional upcoming project, and what date it might begin. Normally you will spend no longer than two weeks in this stage of the process.

Visit the Onboarding page for more information.

4

Onboarding Complete

When you reach this stage you are now approved to work via the iMerit Scholars program. This means that you have satisfied the legal and compliance requirements.

Statement of Work Issued

When you receive a new Task Assignment which has a Statement of Work (SOW) attached, this is your signal that we have a confirmed project for you. You must review the SOW and ensure it matches your expectations, and sign to accept the work.

Please make sure you respond promptly with a signature or any questions, as a delay at this stage may mean losing your spot on the project.

6

Statement of Work (SOW) Completed

At this stage, you are confirmed to work on a project at a start date defined in your Statement of Work. Your Project Manager is your main contact who will give you more details about the project tools, hours, timesheet requirements and other administrative information.

The exact date that you start work may change according to the needs of our end client. We commit to keep you up to date on the expected start date, and do everything we can to ensure a timely start to the project.
