shield-checkSecurity & Software

Our projects sometimes require enhanced security, so we may ask to install software on your machine

Why we may ask you to use a VDI and/or install DLP+CS

To ensure a smooth and secure collaboration during your project with iMerit, we may ask to set up a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and/or install Data Loss Prevention and Cybersecurity (DLP+CS) software on your machine.

  1. Purpose: These tools protect sensitive information, like Personally Identifiable Information (PII), from being leaked or misused. This safeguards both you and us from any potential legal liability.

  2. Process: We’ll install the software quickly and safely on your machine. It’s fully compatible with both Windows and macOS, and there will be no noticeable performance impact on your device.

  3. Flexibility: Once your project is complete, you’re free to uninstall the software. We respect your device and aim to make this as simple as possible.

Depending on the project, there are two main scenarios for installing this software:

Scenario 1: We Remote Access Your Machine to Install VDI and DLP+CS

To ensure everything is set up securely and efficiently for your project, we may need to access your computer remotely to install the VDI and DLP+CS software. Here's what to expect:

  1. Secure Access: Our IT team uses secure tools to access your machine remotely. This process is temporary and fully logged for transparency.

  2. Fast and Safe Installation: The installation will be completed quickly, typically in under 30 minutes, with no risk to your personal files or settings.

  3. Verification: Once the software is installed, we’ll verify everything is working correctly and secure.

  4. Privacy Assured: We only access your device to install and configure the required software. None of your personal files or activities will be viewed or modified during this process.

  5. Uninstallation: After the project is complete, you can uninstall the software, and no traces of it will remain on your system.

Scenario 2: You Install the Software, and We Verify Remotely

If our project permits you to install the software yourself, we’ll provide clear, step-by-step instructions for setting up the VDI and DLP+CS software. Here's how it works:

  1. Guided Installation: We’ll send you a secure download link and simple instructions to install the software on your machine. The process is straightforward and takes about 20-30 minutes.

  2. Remote Verification: Once you’ve completed the installation, our IT team will remotely verify the setup to ensure everything is functioning correctly and securely.

  3. Support Available: If you encounter any issues during installation, our IT team will be on standby to assist.

  4. Uninstallation: When the project ends, you can easily uninstall the software yourself using the same instructions or request our assistance.
