face-worriedProject Release and Termination

Clarity for difficult situations

Let's talk about some of the more difficult situations you might encounter when working with us. Our goal is to maintain open, fair, and empathetic communication at all times:

  • Fairness & Transparency: We will communicate decisions clearly and provide relevant reasons.

  • Respect & Empathy: We acknowledge sensitive situations and handle them with care.

  • Opportunities for Growth: We aim to offer feedback and pathways for future success.

  • Confidentiality: We protect your privacy and share info only as needed within the organization.

Project Release

What It Means: A “project release” means you are removed from a current project. This can happen for several reasons, such as:

  • Evolving project requirements or reduced scope

  • Changes in scheduling or availability

  • Performance concerns

It does not necessarily prevent you from working on future projects with iMerit Scholars. We aim to assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.

How It Happens:

  • During any project, we will provide feedback on your quality and performance as regularly as possible. We will make sure that you are informed of any issues as early as possible.

  • If we need to take the step to release you from a project, your Project Manager usually sets up a video call with you to explain the decision. You will have the chance to discuss and ask questions.

  • A follow-up email is sent to confirm the information in writing.

What You Can Expect:

  • Constructive Feedback (if performance-related): We may share specific areas for growth or improvement.

  • Possible Future Opportunities: If the release is unrelated to performance (e.g., due to scope changes or scheduling conflicts), we may consider you for upcoming projects that better fit your skills or availability. Even if you have performance issues on one project, we will always endeavor to find a new project that better fits your skills.

Role Adjustment

What It Means: A role adjustment keeps you on the project but changes your responsibilities—for example, transitioning from a leadership position to an individual contributor role.

How It Happens:

  • The decision is first made by the Project Manager, who then formally notifies our HR team.

  • HR will then email you with details of the new role, and may invite you to discuss over a call if there are questions or concerns.

  • The Project Manager is typically copied on communication for transparency.

What You Can Expect:

  • Clear Explanation: We’ll outline the reasons behind the change (e.g., shifting project needs, skillset alignment).

  • Opportunity for Growth: We value professional development. If your role is changing, we aim to provide any necessary support or resources to help you succeed in the new position.

Termination from Scholars

What It Means: Termination is a decision to end all professional engagements with you going forward. This typically happens only in serious cases such as misconduct or plagiarism, where we need to remove you from the Scholars platform completely.

How It Happens:

  • The Project Manager communicates the issue to HR, providing any necessary documentation.

  • HR will then reach out to you (often by video call or phone) to discuss the situation and deliver the official termination notice.

  • A written confirmation of the termination follows, including any final contractual or administrative information.

What You Can Expect:

  • Respectful Communication: Even in challenging circumstances, we strive to communicate with courtesy and professionalism.

  • Clear Reasons: You will receive an explanation of the incident(s) leading to termination.

  • Final Steps: We’ll address any remaining contractual obligations, return of materials, or removal of system access.
